Founder and Managing Director of inno³, Benjamin Jean has been advising public and private organizations on openness and collaboration strategies — Free and Open Source Software, Open Data, Open Source Hardware and digital commons — for over fifteen years.
A lawyer by training, specialized in intellectual property, and holding a degree in Sustainable Innovation Strategy (ENSCI), he combines legal, technical, strategic and economic expertise to support organizations through their digital transformations. A recognized expert in Open Source compliance and software supply chain transparency, he co-created Hermine, an open source tool for license compliance management and SBOM, helping organizations gain control over their software dependencies in light of new European regulations (Cyber Resilience Act, AI Act, NIS2).
A lecturer at Sciences Po Paris, co-founder of EOLE (European Open Source Law Event) and vice-chairman of the Open Source committee at Numeum, he actively contributes to the European conversation on digital sovereignty and commons governance. He regularly participates in working groups, seminars and conferences across France and Europe.
